Purple undisputed Champions of St Lawrence sports

They may have loss the tug of war but when the dust settled, Purple House was declared the undisputed inter-house champion at St Lawrence Primary.

Those purple monsters beat Orange House into second position and left Gold House hanging on by a thread when their annual sports was held today at the Deighton Griffith Secondary School.

Last time in 2019, Gold house won but not this time as they finished third with 581 points, Orange House are the runners-up with 729 points and the victors led by 139 points beating all other competitors with a total of 868 points is Purple House.

While speaking to Barbados TODAY, physical education teacher Brian Carter called the day at the Kingsland Christ Church location a major success.

“I find that the children put in a lot of effort and one of the reasons we went to Deighton Griffith was [the need for a longer track], Dover is a 200 metre track where Deighton is a 395 track so I find that with them running the longer distance- I was very impressed with their performance,” he said.

“I see that they put in the effort and they will prepare us for NAPSAC. I was very pleased with the outcome of today’s event,” he added.

Malachi Sergeant of the Under 13 division was Victor Ludorum with 64 points and joining him was tiny tot Gabrielle Johnson Ellis in the Under-seven who claimed the victrix title with 52 points.

Notable mentions includes Jaelen King of Orange House and Kaneisha Inniss from Purple House, both in the Under-13 Division stood out with their athletic prowess.
