Lady Jags confident of progressing further in competition

Following the Lady Jaguars team’s loss to Mexico in the 2022 Concacaf U20 Championship on Monday, head-coach Paul DeAbreu affirmed that fixtures against quality opposition is beneficial for the team’s development, adding that the squad is confident of progressing deeper in the tournament.

Speaking ahead of Guyana’s final group match against Panama today, DeAbreu explained, “To date our team has been able to display perseverance, we have come together for the first time with little time and come out with a victory. It’s always hard to play Mexico, it’s a challenge, they are the best team in the U20 group. We are not at the level yet to compete against them. We can only learn from playing teams like this. Going forward we will look to change our formation and style of play as we had three attacking players. We feel confident that we can continue advancing in the tournament.”
