Scotiabank Barbados Limited showed appreciation to its loyal customers with a special event at its Warrens location on Tuesday.
The event, which featured a lively tuk band and Mudda Sally parade, along with traditional Bajan treats, marked the bank’s week-long celebration of Crop Over, which also honoured its customers who have been supporting the bank for the past 57 years.
Managing Director of Scotiabank Barbados Limited, Suzette Armoogam-Shah said the bank was eager to be a part of the island’s Crop Over festivities.
Noting their recent involvement as title sponsor in the Junior Calypso Monarch, Armoogam-Shah emphasised the bank’s commitment to the season with customer appreciation festivities scheduled across all branches.
“This is the perfect time to have a customer appreciation day. We are in a festive mood as Kadooment is coming up, and because Barbados has a very rich culture, we want to be a part of that and continue the rich legacy of Crop Over,” she said.
Armoogam-Shah also took the opportunity to extend gratitude to customers for their unwavering support of the bank.
“We have been in Barbados for 57 years, and with that, we are proud to operate and serve the community. Being part of Crop Over is one way of doing that,” she expressed.
For the customers present at the event, it was a pleasant surprise while conducting their routine business at the bank. Arlette Greaves, a dedicated customer for over three decades, shared her delight, “I was surprised to see a tuk band and Mudda Sally when I was by the teller. This is the first time that I had ever seen it, but I was glad to be a part of it.”
Dayle Haynes, another customer of the bank, said, “While it was shocking to see when I first walked into the bank, it was a pleasant surprise on a rainy day.”
The festivities will continue throughout the week at Scotiabank’s Haggatt Hall location, followed by the Rockley location on Thursday, and culminating in Bridgetown on Friday. (BB)
