Job description: The EDI Coordinator is the first point of contact at the Centre for Equity and Inclusion (CEI) for the Sheridan community. Queries, complaints, and issues from the Sheridan community relate to a broad range of human rights, equity and inclusion matters (e.g. discrimination, harassment, human rights, accommodation, accessibility). The incumbent identifies the nature of queries, complaints or issues and conducts all processes related to the first level of assessment/triage.
The incumbent organizes, supports and facilitates EDI-related training and events including promoting events, preparing training materials, and supporting participants on digital platforms. The Coordinator also provides administrative support to the Director and other team members, schedules investigation interviews, tracks data and metrics, updates CEI’s website and provides documentation and record-keeping for activities within CEI.

What You’ll be Doing
- Receiving inquiries, complaints, and concerns from the Sheridan community (e.g., employees, students, campus visitors) related to issues such as human rights, discrimination, harassment, accommodation, and accessibility.
- Organizing, supporting and facilitating EDI-related training and events.
- Promoting, communicating, and coordinating the execution of EDI training and events.
- Providing timely and relevant technical support to webinar participants on Microsoft Teams, WebEx Event Centre, etc.
- Planning and coordinating the implementation of a student Social Change Ambassador Program.
- Implementing and monitoring strategic performance measurement systems to optimize outreach, processes and services provided.
- Maintaining the CEI website, affiliated pages and online resources.
- Providing administrative coordination and support to the Director and other team members in the Centre for Equity and Inclusion.

You enjoy balancing many different tasks, staying organized and planning and have the ability to integrate multiple streams of information, prioritize and track multiple projects to meet a demanding workload and keep things running smoothly.
Your respect for equity, diversity, and inclusion, as it relates to the student academic experience and employee work experience, informs your way of knowing, practicing, and supporting the Sheridan community.
You possess a high level of intercultural competence, coupled with a deep understanding of how to apply the principles of inclusivity, and you value participating in and creating safe, brave, and inclusive work and learning environments.
The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:
- A 3-year diploma/degree in a related field along with 3 years experience in areas of human rights, workplace harassment, equity, and inclusion. (Equivalency to be considered).
- Knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response, and Accessibility along with an understanding of diverse college stakeholder groups including faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret policies, procedures, and collective agreements.
- Proficient with computer software (e.g., MS Office Suite, WebEx, Zoom) and experience with website content maintenance (including accessible document creation) and social networking tools.
- The ability to maintain confidential information, using discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
- Strong cultural awareness, patient and able to handle stressful, crisis, or emotionally charged situations.

Other Details
Campus Location: HMC (may be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) once normal campus operations resume. This position is currently working remotely.

Hiring Range: $61,974 – $65,847
Salary Range: $61,974 – $77,467
