Job title: Temporary Information Technology Training Coordinator (12 month position)

Job description: The Training Coordinator maintains, designs, develops, delivers, facilitates, and coordinates training for employees in computer programs and applications supported by the Board. The incumbent works with multi-media to maintain and update departmental learning repositories, online knowledge bases and FAQ sites while continuously improving training and delivery approaches in order to move toward an online and blending learning format.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and deliver analytics and recommendations for continued ITS training improvements
- Evaluate and maintain existing ITS learning curriculum
- Schedule, facilitate and oversee regularly planned ITS training sessions for new and existing content in both online and live delivery formats
- Participate in all ITS project teams as the Training subject matter expert
- Provide support to Supervisor – ITS projects and Training as required
WORK PERFORMED:
- Assess system-wide and departmental training needs by consulting with Information Technology Services (ITS) staff and/or department supervisors
- Develop/coordinate yearly training plans and advertise programs to system staff
- Monitor employee participation statistics and prepare reports
- Design, develop, schedule and facilitate training sessions and workshops that support both new and existing ITS training initiatives
- Develop, prepare and update training documentation
- Investigate sources for external trainers and make arrangements for training delivery by outside facilitators
- Ensure readiness of facilities and equipment for training sessions
- Liaise with ITS staff to confirm training content for new computer applications
- Develop and maintain a high level of current knowledge and skill in the use of corporate computer applications
- Monitor and provide technical support to help desk system software and board web page programs
- Attend group meetings and provide live instructor led technical training, tips and best practices for Office 365 and various ITS enterprise initiatives
- Ensure all TVDSB staff have access to ITS training that meets their needs and availability
- Provide support to the Supervisor, Client Services as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of adult education, theories and principles
- Understanding of instructional design theories and principles
- Classroom (physical) and virtual facilitation skills with an understanding of training and development industry best practices and process
- Knowledge of all ITS programs and applications that are supported by the Board
- Proficient in computer systems such as Outlook 365, MS Office Suite, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work both independently and part of a team
- Completion of a two (2) year post-secondary program in Training and Development, a computer related field or equivalent
- Three (3) years of related work experience is required
- Completion of a four (4) year post-secondary Degree in Adult Education is an asset
- Virtual Facilitation Certification is an asset
