The intent of this advertisement is to staff one (1) indeterminate position following the results of the competition.

Job Summary
Plans, negotiates, manages and co-ordinates projects for the NSERC and SSHRC Councils related to the implementation of Quality Assurance processes and standards, quality control frameworks and best practices in code promotion.
Statement of Qualifications
Education
Degree from a recognized post-secondary education institute in computer sciences or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
Recent* and sound** experience in end user application testing, task estimation, and delivering on tight timelines in an Agile environment;
Recent* and sound** experience in leading QA teams in the development of appropriate test plans and test cases;
Recent* and sound** leadership experience in developing team processes to track QA tasks, ensure test verification and report on testing results;
Recent* and sound** leadership experience in achieving QA process improvements (including test automation) that resulted in increased team productivity;
Recent* and sound * leadership experience in recruiting, training, supervising and motivating teams of QA Analysts (staff and/ or contractors);
Recent* experience managing human*** and financial resources.
- Recent is defined as experience acquired within the last three (3) years.
** Sound is defined by one to three years of experience.
Managing human resources*** includes assignment of work, monitoring performance and giving feedback to employees.
Knowledge
Knowledge of the product development lifecycle (SDLC), and Agile development;
Knowledge of testing best practices including functional, non-functional and automated tests;
Knowledge of testing strategies including test planning, test case development and test result reporting;
Knowledge of best practices around the application of automated testing including platforms (Selenium or similar);
Knowledge of agile tools such as Azure DevOps and Jira.
Abilities
Ability to review business requirements and develop appropriate test plans, test suites and test cases;
Ability to build capacity in the QA team for the development of appropriate test plans and test cases;
Ability to effectively recruit, train, lead and motivate teams of QA Analysts in an Agile environment (staff and/ or contractors);
Ability to lead the team in developing and managing team processes to track QA tasks, ensure test verification and report on testing results;
Ability to lead the team in achieving QA process improvements (including test automation) that result in increased team productivity;
Ability to research and analysis quality assurance needs to recommend solutions;
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
