Job description: Under the supervision of the Director of Social Services, the Supportive Housing Social Work Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision to a Bachelor level Social Service Specialist as well as provide case management services to high-risk tenants in the building assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and experience working with a diverse population including an understanding of the trauma of homelessness compounded with mental health issues. Knowledge of resource and benefit programs. Excellent organizational, communication, and supervisory skills and the ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Work environment requires ability to work with staff from other organizations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual Spanish and/or SIFI certification, a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in hiring process, provide training and supervision to Social Service Specialists.
  • Supervise Bachelor level staff including monitoring productivity, quality of services and professional development.
  • Assess needs of target population and develop responsive services and programming taking into consideration diverse factors including: physical and mental health, diversity of culture, ethnicity, gender and lifestyle.
  • Provide direct services to tenants in caseload; supervisor will carry high-risk cases and/or more challenging cases in the building.
  • Make sure all tenants in the assigned building(s) receive the most appropriate services.
  • Ensure compliance to contractual and regulatory obligation and standards.
  • Meet program’s contractual and funding obligations.
  • Work closely and in partnership with host agency.
  • Maintain open communication with building management and building support staff.
  • Use and facilitate staff’s use of the agency’s documentation database.
  • Prepare and submit various reports as requested.
  • Participate in community-building activities sponsored by program and/or agencies and encourage tenants to support these activities.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Expected salary: $50000 – 55000 per year
