Job description: Pay Range: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour. Your hourly rate will be based on number of summer terms completed with Metrolinx.
Work Location: Multiple locations in Downtown Toronto. As a result of COVID-19, some of these positions may be working virtually until further notice.
Contract up to 4 months
Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

What will I be doing?
- Supporting a team on a wide range of administrative functions
- Preparing and organizing correspondence, perform data entry and word processing functions, and create various documents
- Providing customer service assistance by responding to public and/or internal inquiries
- Assisting with small- or large-scale virtual filing projects by following a prescribed set of rules to store or destroy files
- Conducting research, perform analysis and input data
- Planning, organizing, coordinating and manage daily assigned work
- General office work such as data entry, filing, and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be attending school full-time and returning to an academic institution
- Must be a minimum of 15 years of age before starting employment
- Preference will be given to students who are able to commence work in May 2021
- Proficiency with technology and software (such as MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, GIS, or Web Design) is an asset
- Customer service experience, responding to public and/or internal inquiries is preferred
- Experience in research, data input and analysis are an asset
- Note that certain positions require the wearing of Protective Footwear (i.e. Safety Boots or Shoes) to be purchased at your own cost
