The Bank of Canada’s Quantum Lab for Advanced Analytics leads the Bank’s exploration into quantum computation and how it could benefit the Bank.
What you will do
You will be part of the Data Scientist Community at the Bank – a dynamic team exploring new data and analytics technologies (i.e., Quantum computing, machine learning and artificial intelligence) in various research projects and initiatives to advance and meet the demands of a modern digital data-centric central bank.
The primary responsibility of the intern will be to help with several quantum computation research projects currently underway at the Bank.
What you need to succeed
- You are curious by nature and love to dig deep into problems, always asking “Why?”
- You are passionate, determined and open minded
- You communicate in a clear and concise manner, regardless of medium (text, voice and in-person).
- You are a rational and critical thinker, with an inclination for evidence-based decision making
- You have a strong background in machine learning and programming
- Ideally you are knowledgeable in and have direct experience coding quantum algorithms
Your education and experience
You must be currently enrolled in a university or college program in a computer science, engineering/physics, mathematics, or a related field.
Final year high school students available for part-time work may also be considered.
What you need to know
- Language requirement: English or French essential
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
- Security level required: Secret
- You will work remotely from any location within Canada while the Bank operates under mandatory telework. Flexibility for remote work for the duration of the term may be granted.
- There will be no relocation assistance provided
