As a Software Engineer in the API team, you will work with a smart, highly-motivated team of engineers to solve engaging technical challenges within our client-facing platform. You will provide mentorship, foster innovation, and work with cutting-edge technologies including Druid, SparkSQL, and Aerospike.
Our ideal candidate is eager to bring fresh ideas and write clean uniform software. You will play a key role in our team’s efforts to cultivate innovation and adopt modern design trends.
Responsibilities
● Develop performant highly-available software.
● Lead complex technical projects from planning to execution.
● Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
● Understand our platform in-depth and drive investigation of issues when they arise.
● Provide thought leadership and identify growth opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
● 4 years of professional software development experience.
● 2 years of writing RESTful web services and working with relational databases.
● Coding experience in C/C++, Java, Scala, or Kotlin.
● Expertise in database schema design, infrastructure, and SQL.
● Experience with Spring/Spring Boot and Hibernate/MyBatis.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
● Familiar with modern API trends including gRPC and GraphQL.
● Expertise in design patterns and functional programming.
● Familiar with containerization and in CI/CD paradigms including Docker + Kubernetes.
● Knowledge of user authentication and authorization principles.
● Expertise in unit testing and Behaviour-driven Design (BDD).
● Comfortable working in a fluid agile environment.
Expected salary: $70000 – 100000 per year
