Job description: The Child Youth and Family Services (CYFS) at CAMH is located in our Intergenerational Wellness Building at the redeveloped Queen Street Site of CAMH. As an integral part of the ambitious growth agenda for CAMH, the Child and Family Services teams serve children, youth and emerging adults who have mental health and/or addiction challenges along with their families and caregivers. These services are closely aligned with our Research Centres including the McCain Centre for Child, Youth and Family Mental Health and the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression.

Position Description:

CYFS is currently seeking a full time, temporary (8 months) Social Worker 2 for the Child & Youth Mental Health Services for children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the successful candidate will perform assessments and provide case management, individual, group, and family treatment, including outpatient counseling. In addition, the candidate will work within an inter-professional team and participate in research, program development and evaluation, internal/external presentations and continuous quality improvement activities. Candidates must be capable of providing supervision to Masters of Social Work students, collaborating with faculties of social work on special projects related to the development of the social work field and contributing to the development of best practices unique to the social work field. Candidates will serve as faculty on courses and workshops held within and outside of CAMH. Ongoing professional development is provided and is an expectation. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements. Ability to work flexible hours is a requirement and some evening hours will be required. This position is located at 80 Workman Way.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a Master’s in Social Work from a recognized Social Work program, be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and be eligible for an academic cross appointment. Formal training and demonstrated knowledge in concurrent disorders, harm reduction and evidence based treatment models (family therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapies, interpersonal therapy etc) are critical, with two (2) or more years of specialized clinical experience working with complex and challenging children, adolescents, and their families is required. Strong skills in individual and family counseling, psychoeducation, clinical assessment, case management, and treatment are essential. Demonstrated experience in co-facilitation of group programming for children, adolescents and parents is needed. The ability to provide culturally competent service to clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds is essential and experience completing comprehensive clinical child and family mental health assessments as part of an interdisciplinary team is required. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment are also essential. Experience in developing and delivering training workshops and contributing to capacity building initiatives are essential. Computer skills, including word processing, electronic communication and workload measures are essential. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note: This full-time, temporary (8 months) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.

Salary Range: $36.04 – $48.57 per hour
