Job description: The Complex Care and Recovery program is seeking a full-time, permanent Social Worker 2 for the Expanded Forensic Outpatient Service. Reporting to the manager, you will be a member of an inter-professional team providing clinical and risk management services to adults under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Review Board. Working collaboratively with the clinical team, you will be assigned a caseload of clients with severe and persistent mental illness and will participate in the provision of rehabilitative programs offered within the forensic service. You will be responsible for liaising with inpatient units regarding new referrals, developing, implementing and monitoring risk management plans, ensuring compliance with the ORB disposition, participating in the development of ORB reports and providing discipline specific services. Other duties will include formulating treatment plans, completing standardized assessments, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, monitoring client’s response to therapeutic interventions, and communicating with the client’s social and community networks. Sound knowledge of community and CAMH-wide resources informs your discharge planning activities – particularly in the areas addressing the client’s housing, income and aftercare needs. Candidates must be capable of providing supervision of Masters of Social Work students, contributing to the development of best practices unique to the social work field and also teaching to other professionals. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, requires respectful teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. Weekend and evening shifts will be required. This position is located at 1001 Queen St. West.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master’s of Social Work degree combined with a preferred 3 years of post-graduate work experience and be registered and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. The candidate must be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with the faculties of social work that has affiliation agreements with CAMH. Knowledge of relevant community resources and working with families/significant others is required. The successful candidate requires experience in forensic social work, applied knowledge about ORB reports, and risk assessments pertaining to this population. You will have direct clinical practice experience in knowledge of how to work with principals of mental health and substance use issues. Outpatient experience in a mental health setting is an asset. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment are essential. You possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to participate in research, education and supervision of MSW students. The ability to work effectively as a team member in a dynamic inter-professional environment delivering Assertive Community Treatment Service (ACT) is essential. You possess demonstrated knowledge and experience in assessment and rehabilitation. In addition, you possess fundamental knowledge and application of the recovery model and other current best practices for this client population. Experience working with clients, staff and organizations of diverse ethno racial backgrounds is required. Computer skills, including word processing, electronic communication, and workload measures are essential. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Please Note: This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.

Salary Range: $36.04 – $48.57 per hour
