Job description: The Complex Care and Recovery Program is seeking a full-time, permanent Social Worker 2 to work on the Forensic Secure Unit B (LSUB). Reporting to the Manager, you will be a member of an inter-professional team, which provides care to forensic inpatients detained on a secure unit (medium) under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Review Board (ORB). As a registered Social Worker you will be working toward enabling patients through assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to transfer to a general unit (minimum) and ultimately return to the community. You will be responsible for participating in the formulation of treatment plans, in the preparation of Ontario Review Board reports, in the unit risk management program. You will provide a range of rehabilitation services for individuals including: assessments, facilitation of therapeutic and psycho-educational groups, individual counseling to support clients’ rehabilitation goals/needs, and work with family/significant others. Candidates must be capable of providing supervision of Masters of Social Work students, collaborating with faculties of social work on special projects related to the development of the social work field, contributing to the development of best practices unique to the social work field and also teaching to other professionals. Workload data entry is a job requirement. You will play an important role in contributing to program planning, evaluation, research and quality assurance initiatives. Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master’s of Social Work degree combined with a preferred 3 years of post-graduate work experience and be registered and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. You will have relevant clinical experience in the field of mental health and addictions. You must be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with faculties of Social Work that have affiliation agreements with CAMH. Preference will be given to those who possess a strong knowledge of and ability to apply principles of risk management and crisis intervention and who have an understanding of social work practice with a forensic patient population. Specific experience in psychiatric and forensic risk assessments, psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, and family work is also preferred. Ability to facilitate 1:1 and group sessions using evidenced based practices such as CBT, DBT, and mindfulness based stress reduction is an asset. You must possess sound knowledge and experience working in an inter-professional program environment. In addition, you will have effective decision-making, problem solving and interpersonal skills as well as proven organizational skills, and the ability to facilitate work within a collaborative, inter-professional environment. The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds is required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
Please note: This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.
Salary range: $36.04 – $48.57 per hour
