Job description: The Complex Care and Recovery Program is currently recruiting a Social Worker 2 for a full-time, (6 month) temporary position within the Therapeutic Neighbourhood (TN) program. TN is a centralized location where clients with similar treatment needs attend therapeutic programming. Offering centralized programming in addition to unit-based programming allows more opportunities for client choice in programming, greater exposure to other clients facing similar issues, and more opportunities to help clients reach their recovery and wellness goals. The successful candidate will be skilled in appropriately identifying, assessing and addressing the therapeutic and programming needs of clients. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the programming and other special projects as required and related to the Therapeutic Neighbourhood. The social worker, in addition to specialized therapies will co-supervise social recreation groups to this population. The successful candidate must be capable of providing supervision to Masters of Social Work students, collaborating with faculties of social work on special projects related to the development of the social work field, contributing to the development of best practices unique to the social work field and also teaching to other professionals. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. The service mandate is to provide programming to our clients during the week also including, 2-3 evenings per week and weekends on a rotating schedule. This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West.
Qualifications
Reporting to the Manager of Therapeutic Neighbourhood, the successful candidate will have a Master’s of Social Work degree combined with three (3) years clinical experience in a concurrent/mental health setting and be registered as a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. The candidate must be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with the faculties of social work that have affiliation agreements with CAMH. The successful candidate will be an individual with strong recovery orientation along with experience in evidenced based interventions such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing as well as experience in facilitating family groups. Experience must be relevant to the complex mental illness client population, and as such, the successful candidate will also have experience in direct service delivery with this population both individually and in group settings. An understanding of the impact of the unique experiences of clients with complex mental illness is an expectation for this position. Candidates with recent experience and training in concurrent disorders including assessment and the provision of individual and group stage wise treatment will be preferred. The successful clinician will have experience working in an interprofessional team and will bring clinical experience and familiarity in working with clients with complex mental illness, as well as with mood disorders. Knowledge and understanding of the complexities of the forensic mental health system (e.g., the Ontario Review Board) is preferred. Knowledge of interventions focused upon risk reduction, the enhancement of protective factors and that are integrated into a comprehensive risk management plan and contribute to the client’s progression through the forensic system is considered an asset. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $36.04 – $48.57 per hour
