JOB SUMMARY

As directed by the Pharmacy Manager, this position is responsible for the receiving of incoming inventory and packing/shipping of customer orders as per established Policy and Procedures (P&P).

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The Receiver/Packer /Shipper is expected to perform all tasks within the scope of all applicable Policy and Procedures (P&P) related to the job function. They are also responsible to ensure that all records related to reception of products, packing of customer orders and shipping are accurate, retained and follow Good Documentation Practices.

Duties generally include, but are not limited to the following:

Receiving:

  • Accept deliveries of inbound products from carrier companies.
  • Assess inbound deliveries and report any discrepancies by:
  • comparing product and quantities shipped to PO;
  • evaluating damages and out of specification shipping conditions;
  • verifying product lot number to ensure that product is not part of a recall;
  • evaluating expiration date, packaging quality/compliance as per GMP regulations;
  • if applicable, reporting out-of-specification shipping temperatures to the Inventory Control Clerk and/or delegate for investigation;
  • Complete receiving computer functions in the McKesson Business Application (AS400).
  • Put away:
  • place the correct receiving label on each product for placement to defined locations;
  • sort to proper put away zones;
  • put merchandise away on designated areas;
  • ensure all cold chain products are moved directly to the fridge for further receiving.
  • Communicate with ICC, Supervisor and/or Manager to ensure that potentially compromised products are removed and placed in a secured quarantine area for assessment.

Packing:

  • prepare required shipping documentation;
  • place customer orders in totes;
  • confirm contents of shipping totes contain complete customer orders;
  • securely seal and label totes.

Shipping

  • Sort totes onto pallets by route and customer;
  • Verify number of pieces on manifest used by drivers.
  • Perform cleaning/sanitation duties as required;
  • Other duties as requested by Supervisor

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Ensure that company policies and procedures are respected. Communicate with supervisors and Pharmacy Manager of any deviations that occur concerning established procedures and opportunities for improvements. Assure that work areas are kept safe, organized and clean. Follow company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety policies. Operate lifting equipment in a safe and responsible manner. C. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. EDUCATION

a. A minimum High school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL TRAINING REQUIRED

Required:

Clear CPIC (Canadian Police Information Center) check. Basic math and reading skills and a high standard for attention to detail and accuracy. Familiar and able to work with computers. Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds independently and greater weights in a team-lift environment Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time

  • Experience in a distribution center/warehouse/manufacture/pharmacy environment. Strong focus of Customer Service and commitment to customer satisfaction. Proven ability to be a team player and work in a team environment Understanding on regulatory issues, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.

SKILLS and/or QUALITIES Ability to challenge processes and seek out process improvements or creative ways of completing tasks. Reliable and punctual and willing to work various shifts. Behaviours aligned with McKesson Canada ICARE principles and values. Excellent organizational skills with ability to set priorities and creatively solve problems. Demonstrated success in working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to function is a fast-paced, continually changing and results-oriented environment. Good understanding of MS software (Outlook, Word, PPT & Excel).
