Job title: Senior Technology and Business Analyst – Grow to CTO

Job description: We have been engaged to work on an incredible opportunity for a company in the Greater New York City metro area. The position reports to the COO, and you will be his right hand person for all things regarding the systems. He is a really great guy too.
They are a well funded start-up, already profitable, and with millions in sales and orders from several huge retailers. This is one of the “those” crazy, ground floor, wild ride opportunities. It reminds me of the hot cosmetics retailer E.L.F. Look them up if you don’t know them. Pretty cool story.
Let me tell you how smart they are. They already chose and implemented NetSuite, have a solid network in place, are looking at turning on demand planning, are investing in a top team (like you), want to bring people on now so that when they are a billion in sales, you are the next CTO.
Interested? I am a former CIO and that is how I did it. I took a job that I was over-qualified for, worked my tail off, and when then they went from $32 million to over a billion, guess who was running IT? Yep, this guy (two thumbs pointing back at me).
So here is what I need:
- NetSuite experience (other suitable ERP would be considered, of course)
- Significant experience in one or more of the pieces of the supply chain:
- consumer products
- warehouse and logistics
- specialty retail (Omni, eComm, or brick and mortar would work)
- EDI experience (for orders and shipping notices mainly)
- Integration experience (Like bringing on new retail customers)
- A super, great personality. There will be some pressure, like at all start-ups, so you can’t crack and great crabby
- Energy and a sense of humor
- Intellectual curiosity (if you have it, I don’t need to explain it, do I?)
- Classically trained IT education (you need to have a solid understanding of systems and business)
- This is a women’s beauty company, aka cosmetics. That experience is not needed, but if you have it, awesome.
I know, anyone who knows me knows I just described myself. (Just kidding).
