Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for providing operational and project management support for the Real Estate Data Management and Reporting project within the technology and data delivery team. Business Analyst will also provide operational support related to Alternative Assets Investment Systems.

Major accountabilities

  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions. Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of strong system specifications that enable the development and/or acquisition of appropriate systems to meet business requirements.
  • Build as-is and to-be process design flows, identifying efficiencies and leveraging the capability of digital resources
  • Liaise with Digital Engineers and business subject matter experts to brainstorm and document innovative solutions alternatives. Evaluate alternatives relative to business requirements and provide advice that is rooted in deep subject matter expertise
  • Participate in process design meetings and translating outcomes into process documentation. Conduct process walkthroughs and validation with business subject matter experts. Document the key risks, mitigating controls, performance measures, cost drivers and business continuity plans for processes.

Role Specific Accountabilities:

  • Operational support for business areas within Alternate Assets Investments operations which focus on servicing Direct Private Equity, Private Credit Investment and Real Assets business lines.
  • Provide strong leadership and project management for multiple initiatives.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions. Document and validate results with subject matter experts and drive the creation of strong system specifications that enable the development and/or acquisition of appropriate systems to meet business requirements.
  • Liaise with Digital Engineers and business subject matter experts to brainstorm and document innovative solutions alternatives. Evaluate alternatives relative to business requirements and provide advice that is rooted in deep subject matter expertise.
  • Participate in process design by researching industry “best practices”, attending process design meetings and translating outcomes into process documentation. Conduct process walkthroughs and validation with business subject matter experts. Document the key risks, mitigating controls, performance measures, cost drivers and business continuity plans for processes
  • Provide support to Alternative Assets Investments groups on day-to-day issues.
  • Work with technical and business individuals who may be internal CPP Investments staff or external vendors to resolve production issues.
  • Applies analytical and technical skills to investigate day-to-day system and business issues, determine the root cause and deliver viable solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to conduct complex data analysis

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a related role(s) within the investment industry
  • Proven capabilities to improve manual processes through automation design and execution
  • Proven ability to liaise with business subject matters in gathering of business requirements, including direct experience with public and private investments and supporting operations
  • Proven process development skills and solid understanding of project life cycle and the capability to apply best practices knowledge to unique and dynamic situations
  • Experience capturing and analyzing process flows to identify efficiencies
  • Excellent communication skills
