Knowledge:
· Of process modeling and data mapping/conversion
· Of methodologies for development of technical specifications
· Of existing Information Management and Information Technology fields
· Of Microsoft server platforms and operating systems
· Of IM/IT policies, standards and procedures

Experience:

In software development
In scope and change management
In technical documentation
In creating technical presentations
In application integration and delivery challenges
In a similar IM/IT environment, an asset

Responsibilities

Develop, prepare and document Information Management/Technology (IM/IT) solutions, such as business objectives, user requirements, technical specifications and statements of work.

Develop IM/IT solutions for desktop or client/server applications, databases, networking, storage and communications.

Participate in the development and implementation of technology roadmaps.

Liaise with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to research and evaluate business and technical requirements.

Liaise with colleagues to develop build-versus-buy recommendations and survey commercial landscape.

Prepare and present feasibility studies, prototypes, business cases and cost benefit analysis for IM/IT projects.

Identify assumptions, alternates and transition issues for IM/IT projects.

Identify and document business or legislative constraints.

Participate in project status meetings.

Liaise with colleagues to develop systems designs and project plans.

Liaise with the Application Development team to develop functional specifications.

Review usability of applications prior to development, and present mock-ups to stakeholders and SMEs.

Liaise with Quality team to develop testing plans and to ensure requirement traceability.

Liaise with Systems/Network team to develop technical specifications.

Prepare acceptance plans.

Redesign business processes, as required.

Ensure usability, scalability, reliability, extensibility, and reuse of software components and hardware infrastructure.

Apply NPF policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation.

Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Program and may act as a member of a local NPF Committee.

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
