Job description: The Information Security Analyst investigates, verifies, and assesses information risk and facilitates resolutions of identified vulnerabilities with the network, systems, and applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Monitor computer networks for security issues; install security software and tools; investigation and documentation of any violations/breaches of any security issues. This includes being an active member of the Breach Response team.
§ Design, implement and maintain security solutions and protocols to protect our computer networks from cyber-attacks and help set and maintain security standards. Understanding of firewalls and other network routing solutions and hardware.
§ Strong working knowledge of industry security frameworks and standards (such as NIST, ISO, SOC, etc) as well asdata privacy regulations and compliance requirements for NYDFS and other compliance regulations (SOX, GDPR, PCI DSS, etc)
§ Conduct business and security risk assessments. Responsible for annual pen testing, security awareness training, vulnerability risk assessments as needed.
§ Responsible for analyzing existing security procedures and suggesting changes to IT Leadership. This includes updating and maintaining policies and procedures documentation/SOP’s to ensure our security practice is evolving and compliant with changing data protection and privacy legislation. Ability to explain and translate security policies.
§ Offer additional IT infrastructure operations support as required.
§ Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
§ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
§ Minimum 5 years’ experience in information security required.
§ Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques required.
§ Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts required.
§ Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them required.
§ Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact is required.
Skills:
§ Knowledge of computer networks and how they operate.
§ Advanced Network Security knowledge.
§ Experience with incident response handling.
§ Strong communication and documentation skills.
§ Excellent Attention to detail.
§ Understanding of security threats and mitigation strategies.
Expected salary: $250000 per year
