Job title: Research Assistant 2

Job description: The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is currently seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Assistant 2 to join the General Adult Psychiatry and Health Systems Division. The Mood and Anxiety program is part of the this division and includes clinical research projects with focus on cannabis and endocannabinoid system in mood and anxiety disorders as well as quality improvement projects such as Integrated Care Pathways. Reporting to the Clinician Scientist, your responsibilities will include: searching electronic research resources, preparing literature reviews, assisting with development, initiation and conduct of quality improvement and research projects, including assessments, surveys and interviews, data entry, exporting, and cleaning, and assisting with data analysis and preparing findings for presentations, peer reviewed research papers, and knowledge transfer activities. You will support and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 100 Stokes Street.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Community College Diploma with a background in health or social sciences, combined with 6 months to one year of relevant experience. Previous experience in clinical programs, mental health or clinical research is preferred. Experience with Electronic Data Capture Systems such as REDCap is an asset. You will have proficiency with Microsoft office, online academic search engines (e.g., PsycINFO, PubMed, MedLine), database software packages as well as experience conducting basic analyses using statistical packages (SPSS) and data interpretation. Ordering and accounting experience with a knowledge of CAMH accountability as well as the University of Toronto accountability system would be an asset. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and organization skills are required. You will possess the ability to effectively handle confidential information and the ability to exercise initiative with good judgment and tact. Experience with knowledge transfer activities is an asset, as is prior presentation and academic writing experience. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in another language is an asset.
Please Note: This full-time, contract (12 months) is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.
Salary Range: $23.59 – $29.09 per hour
