What can I expect to do in this role? The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Bureau Commander of Fleet, Supply and Weapons Services Bureau seeks a qualified individual to provide programming, systems analysis, technical leadership and support to FSWSB /CTSB project teams and FSWSB/CTSB clients. To design, develop, implement and maintain information technology solutions and services.
Note: this is a six (6) month temporary assignment with the possibility of an extension. There are no relocation expenses for this temporary assignment.
Knowledge and experience with the REMEDY IMS application would be a benefit to this position.
While this position is located in Orillia, flexible work options, including remote work, may be available.
How do I qualify?
Mandatory Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of applications/technical support, network infrastructure technologies, PC-based/Windows and lntel computer environments, application software (MS SOL, JavaScript, VBScript, MS/llS, ASP, HTML, C++, Visual Basic, Java).
Written communication skills to prepare project reports, RFPs, document technology research; prepare technical documentation, methodologies and processes.
Oral and interpersonal skills to develop and foster team relationships, with the ability to explain alternative solutions and contingency requirements, to provide technical advice and support to users and to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical personnel.
Knowledge of Section policies, practices and procedures and current industry standards governing the installation, repair and maintenance of hardware and software.
Knowledge of new/leading edge tools, systems designs, technology integration, analysis techniques, current trends in LAN, WAN, minicomputers, wireless communications and Internet-related software/hardware.
Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and system’s testing methodologies, to assess capabilities of technology infrastructure.
Analytical, evaluative and problem-solving skills to create and implement programs, to assess business risks and security threats for critical systems and to assess damages to systems and facilities in the event of disasters and/or major system outages and formulate action plans for business recovery.
