The cover letter should not exceed two (2) pages in English or two and half (2.5) pages in French* (8.5X11; 11 point font; normal margins). This position is located in our office in Ottawa, Ontario. As a result of the global pandemic, SSHRC and NSERC employees are currently working remotely. When the current situation reverts, the successful candidate would normally be required to report and work onsite from the Ottawa office. Please note that the candidate is responsible for any relocation fees. The employer will not accept any expense claims.

Job Summary
Provision of operational support to Research Grants and Partnerships Division staff and selection committees for competitions and on-going activities under the direction of the Team Leader via new electronic tools and organizational systems processes; training of staff on the use of various electronic tools; creating specific program material, processes and procedures ; development of statistics and new detailed reports; analysis and interpretation of complex data; assurance of database accuracy and integrity; management of the directorate’s intranet, extranets, AMIS templates and posting activities; preparation and mail-out of competition-related material; provide support for the budget and award processes.
Statement of Qualifications
Education
High School diploma or equivalent approved by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Asset
A diploma in the field of administrative support
Experience
Sound* and recent** experience in using databases and extracting data from large corporate databases for manipulation, verification and production of statistical or budget reports
Significant*** and recent** experience in using various software packages (MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro)
Recent** experience in statistical analysis
Sound* and recent** experience working in a client service environment
Sound* and recent** experience in developing procedures and providing training to staff
Asset
Sound* and recent** experience in using AMIS, Business Intelligence, and Microsoft CRM/Dynamics
*Sound is equivalent to one or more years of experience
**Within the last three (3) years
***Significant is equivalent to three (3) or more years of experience
Knowledge
Knowledge of the mandate, structure and roles of SSHRC and its policies and programs.
Knowledge of statistical procedures, methods and concepts as well as of budgeting concepts
General knowledge of the Financial Administration Act, the Transfer Payments Policy, the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act and the Official Languages Act
Some knowledge of training techniques.
Knowledge of project management.

Ability to plan, organize, manage, control and coordinate a high volume of diverse activities in accordance with policies and procedures, and under tight deadlines
