PROGRAM DESCRIPITION:

BRC started operating the Boulevard Residence in July 2009. Funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services, the Boulevard is a 101-bed homeless shelter that houses mentally ill men. The program provides a complete range of mental health stabilization, medication management, case management and medical services. The ultimate goal of the program is to place its clients into appropriate, supportive housing within nine months.

HOURS:

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Various Overnight Shifts (11:00p – 7:30a)

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with serving meals and snacks. Maintain appropriate sanitary conditions in dining area. Receive and store program supplies and food deliveries. Assist clients with hygiene, laundry and concrete services. Maintain security in facility. Orient new clients as to shelter guidelines. Monitor and report on client interactions. Responsible for making appropriate log book entries. Emergency response and crisis intervention as needed. Maintain fire safety drills and logs. Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. Related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED required. Basic computer literacy required. Good writing and oral communication skills. Must possess the ability to follow directions and work closely with others. TB clearance required. Food Handling, Fire Safety and First Aid/CPR certification or the ability to pass test to acquire these credentials required.

Expected salary: $15.91 per hour
