Job title: Production Support Engineer (Rates/Credit) – Remote

Job description: PRODUCTION SUPPORT ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge on Rates & Credit business and applications to the Support and Development teams which include providing training to the support team in order to reduce reliance on the development teams
- Enhance Geneos monitoring to improve the monitoring of production processes as well as build python scripts for application tooling and Geneos monitoring
- Working with the development team to automate manual support processes
- Provide strong incident management during incidents to improve recovery time and facilitate industry-standard root cause analysis (RCA) exercises as a result of critical incidents and initiating the problem management cycle
- Analysis of incidents to identify underlying trends and focus areas and supporting the design and development of standard process to eliminate pain points, issues and root causes of current production management processes
- Interact directly with IT leaders, managers and key stakeholders to proactively communicate status on active major incidents or problem tickets
Skills and Experience:
- Strong Python scripting required
- Excellent ability to troubleshoot all manner of IT related issues and use your initiative when unsure and experience in ITIL incident management and problem management processes
- Good understanding of Solaris/Linux, with the ability to write shell scripts in bash/ksh.
- Good Oracle or other relational database experience with the ability to write complex SQL queries
- Knowledge of deploying and managing applications in application hosting environments
- Experience in Geneos monitoring setup; Geneos provides monitoring and system management of critical real-time applications
Expected salary: $110000 – 130000 per year
