General Accountability

Reporting to the Category Manager, the incumbent performs duties directly associated with acquisition of various goods and services primarily of an inventory and/or repetitive nature.
Key Job Functions
- Preparing standard commercial analysis documents, purchase orders and formal and informal RFX documents.
- Expediting of goods to ensure on-time delivery to meet user requirements, as required
- Coordinating all communication with bidders from tender issue through to contract award and providing responses to bidders as required
- Purchasing inventory & non-stock parts of repetitive nature
- Preparing and issuing a purchase order to the successful company
- Processing amendments to standard purchase orders
- Knowledge of business administration concepts and practices combined with a good knowledge of modern office methods, practices, procedures and office equipment plus knowledge of modern office software such as Microsoft Office etc;
- Exposure to, or an understanding of purchasing, materials management, and computer based materials management system and their application in the purchasing field is preferred;
- Well-developed analytical, interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communications skills;
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
- Candidate will be required to participate in the TTC’s Customer Service Ambassador Program.

Education and Experience
Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
Additional Requirements
- .Working experience with an ERP system (e.g SAP, IFS, etc) would be considered an asset.
- Membership with Ontario Public Buyer Association would be considered an Asset.
- Professional purchasing accreditation or active enrollment with a professional body working towards certification considered an asset
- Experience working in public sector procurement considered an asset
