Advantages
– Competitive starting hourly wage rate based on years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant specifically relating to prescription entry, billing/adjudication; overtime is infrequent but at times available/requested and paid in accordance with Employment Standards Legislation (after 44 hours per week)
– This is a direct-hire, full-time career opportunity (the successful candidate is our client’s employee from day one – this is not a temp role)
– There are positions available with schedules running eithe rfrom 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM from Monday to Friday or from 1 PM – 9 PM from Monday to Friday, with either offering consistent hours and great work/life balance.

Responsibilities
– Receiving prescriptions from long-term care facilities and nurses over the phone
– Entering prescriptions into pharmacy software
– Handling prescription billing and resolving any adjudication issues
– Filling prescriptions
– Filling high volume blister packs
– Working independently as well as part of a large team of pharmacy assistants and pharmacists

Qualifications
– 1 or more years of experience as a pharmacy assistant in any setting
– Proficient in Kroll or other pharmacy software
– Experience with PacMed a plus
– Excellent data entry skills with both high speed and accuracy – this is a high volume prescription entry environment!
– Familiarity with resolving basic adjudication and 3rd party billing issues
– Great communications skills
– Positive, can-do attitude
– Ability to work both independently and as part of a large team
