Have you previously managed a team of 5 or more people with responsibility for scheduling, workflow, motivation and teamwork, coaching, and back-up assistance as needed, working alongside your team members, to get the job done? We are currently supporting a non-retail pharmacy client in Mississauga, ON with their search for a Pharmacy Supervisor who is not completing dispensing activities but rather managing patient contact regarding the ordering, billing and delivery of prescriptions.

Advantages
This permanent career opportunity offers full-time hours (40 scheduled hours per week). Scheduled shift times will be from 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm five days per week, including both weekend days (this Supervisor will get 2 days off during the week).

The successful candidate will be provided with a competitive salary, estimated to be in the $60-65K range, paid vacation, and a comprehensive benefits package.

This is a direct-hire, permanent career opportunity, meaning the successful candidate will be on our client’s payroll from day one.

Responsibilities
In this non-retail pharmacy setting, you will supervise a team of pharmacy support staff (pharmacy assistants) while working along with the team – spending about half of your time supporting patient contact using phone, email and text. Calls will relate to patients ordering prescriptions, transfers-in and -out, billing/adjudication and delivery of their medications. Other time will be spent managing administrative tasks but the majority of time is spent working along with the team and coaching, mentoring and problem-solving. This is a non-retail setting with an office and pharmacy/dispensary on-site – this is a non-patient-facing role (no patients come into this pharmacy).

Qualifications
– Current or prior experience in any type of Pharmacy setting where you completed billing/adjudication/communication with insurance companies regarding coverage and worked to support the delivery of patient prescriptions on-time is required
– Current or prior experience as an Assistant Manager or Manager in a pharmacy or similar retail front shop, events planning or other service-oriented setting is required where you managed a team of 5 or more people
– Prior experience training and supporting/coaching other patient contact team members with the delivery of service, developing team members to grow with the organization, and monitoring team production in a customer service management style role required
– Computer experience with pharmacy software is required, including billing/adjudication (ODB and private insurance) – training on current system will be provided but prior experience with any pharmacy software is required
– Strong written verbal and computer skills are required (patient communication may include phone, email and text-based communication – proper grammar and spelling are key to supporting the professionalism of this organization’s brand
– Positive outlook with a strong work ethic required
– Deadline-oriented and strong prioritization and organizational skills a must; willing to go the extra mile to ensure patients get their prescriptions on-time!
– Able to work evening shifts from 1 pm – 9 pm daily and potentially morning shifts as per business needs; also able to work weekends (with regular days off during the week)
