Purpose:

The On-Call Caregiver, is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in providing excellent companion care beyond regular office hours and on weekends for older adults and their families in a professional and appropriate manner.

Main Duties:

  • Answer all phone calls outside of regular office hours (weekdays- 4:30 pm-8:00 am; weekends or holidays – 8:00 am-8:00 am).
  • Politely and efficiently resolve any client service issues, scheduling issues or adjustments.
  • Monitor the on-call email for any missed clock-ins / outs and voicemails – check these at least every 3 hours on weekends and 2 hours on weekends.
  • Track all incoming calls, missed check-ins, and voicemails in the on-call log; respond to each as needed.
  • Serve as “jump and run” caregiver in times where you are unable to fill shifts. This is an essential requirement of the position.
  • Any other tasks requested by Touching Hearts Office Staff

Other Requirements:

  • On-call staff must have reliable phone service and internet access throughout their shift.
  • On-call staff must be available and able to answer and respond to incoming phone calls throughout their shift.
  • When not actively taking calls or completing follow through, on-call staff is free to utilize their time as they see fit, as long as they are able to meet the above requirements.

Pay:

  • Flat rate of $75 per day (Saturday & Sunday); PLUS $13.75 an hour if you must cover a shift
  • We would also love to have you work as a Companion Care Partner for Touching Hearts outside of the on-call position!

Administrative On-Call Caregiver Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1 year of experience in an administrative role within office or customer service setting; preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Personal or professional experience working as Companion Caregiver, Personal Care Aide (PCA) or Home Health Aide (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Proficient in HRIS or scheduling software
  • Passion for helping seniors remain safe and independent wherever they call home.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle and smart phone.
  • Ability to complete a Driving Record check and Background check.
