Job description: Daemen College seeks applications for a tenure track, Nurse Practitioner faculty position in the Nursing Department. The position includes teaching responsibilities in the MS in AGPCNP program at the College. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date is September 2021.

The Nursing Department provides high quality, adult student- oriented, accessible education to registered nurses. Offerings include an RN to BS program, and three Master’s programs. All programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements include a Doctoral degree (DNP, DNS, PhD, EdD) in nursing or a related discipline or enrollment in such program. Certification as an advanced practice nurse in ANP, AGNP or FNP (with primarily adult experience) is also required.

Experience with program development, student advisement and recruitment, on-line teaching, and in thesis or project supervision are preferred and highly valued.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with “active learning” in both an online and face to face modality
  • Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents
  • Strong time management/organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and all College administration
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching

Working Conditions:

Climate controlled classroom setting, but some activities/ duties can occur both inside and outside the office setting, including site visits to student clinical sites.

Post-Hire Trainings:

Various trainings assigned upon hire and annually thereafter by the Office of Employee Engagement.

This is a full-time position. Benefits are available the first of the month following the full-time employee’s date of hire and include health, dental, vision insurance, and fully paid life insurance. In addition, we offer fully paid long term disability insurance after 3 months of employment. Eligibility for the 403b retirement plan is available to full-time employees upon hire and an 8% employer match after one year of service.
