Nursing Manager RN – Job Description
Objective:
This position requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgement regarding significant matters of quality assurance/clinical management/risk management and training of CAREGiversSM for the Toronto East office of Home Instead.
The successful candidate will ensure the ongoing satisfaction, quality of care, and safety of existing clients through regular contact, and in conjunction with scheduled quality assurance touchpoints for clients and their CAREGiversSM.
Primary Responsibilities:
Consult with existing and potential clients, their family members or designates, to discuss client needs and recommend and implement an appropriate plan of care
Manage, maintain, and update client care plans, evolve the associated support activities to be provided
Deliver office approved Nurse Directed Services to clients as needed
Train, oversee, and authorize front line care workers in various delegated acts
Conduct regular quality assurance calls and home visits with clients, their family members, and/or their legal representatives on an ongoing basis
Ensure the maintenance and management of all client journals, specifically ensuring the provisioning, collection, review, and continuous analysis of all client-specific care logs
Create and maintain client and responsible party records documenting all quality assurance meetings/visits or calls.
Recognize and pursue opportunities to modify care plans to best support the ongoing needs of clients through a quality assurance program.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with community partners, healthcare professionals, and organizations across the community
Work with other team members to coordinate various aspects of a client’s care
Participate in the round-robin rotation of on-call support for the office as required
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensure that they are implemented and communicated to all front-line employees
Reflect the core values of the independently owned and operated Home Instead office
Perform all other functions and responsibilities deemed necessary for the successful operation of the Toronto East office of Home Instead
Education/Experience Requirements:
Maintain a current, non-restricted Registered Nursing (RN) License in the Province of Ontario, Canada
Have a clear understanding of RN regulations and responsibilities as related to nursing delegation to an unlicensed caregiver.
A minimum of ten (10) years of healthcare sector experience
Specialties including but not be limited to Geriatric, Palliative, and Dementia Care would be an asset
Must possess a valid Ontario G class driver’s license
First Aid/CPR certified
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with general office software tools and ability to develop proficiency in operational technology platforms.
An effective listener who demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
Exhibit effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making
Must demonstrate discretion, professional integrity, and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, and policies
Maintain an ability to work independently, while maintaining the confidentiality of healthcare information and office deadlines
Ability to establish good working relationships with office colleagues, and healthcare professionals across the local community
Must present in a professional manner
Compensation & Term
- Base Salary $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per annum
- Incentive Pay Eligible
- Full-Time Permanent
Expected salary: $70000 – 75000 per year
