Start Date: September 2021
Contract Length: Starting September 2021 for 12 months with a possibility of an extension. There will be a training period overlapping with the current incumbent before she departs on maternity leave.

Description: SK Films is a Toronto based, boutique content provider and an international leader in the worldwide IMAX/Giant Screen film industry. The company develops, produces and distributes 3D and 2D films for IMAX ® and other Giant Screen theatres located in prestigious institutions/Museums and science centers spanning 55 countries. The company’s product line-up includes films for both prestigious institutional and commercial theaters and content for exploitation in other media including television broadcast.

SK is seeking a candidate to work with a small team to execute the role of Manager, Film Distribution and Operations. The position reports directly to the VP of Sales and Marketing and works closely with the VP of Finance and Business Affairs. The candidate is responsible for implementing and maintaining the distribution operations for all of the SK Films library of Giant Screen films and TV projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the fulfillment of all delivery requirements to and from clients worldwide (including the content, marketing materials, etc.)
  • Manage inventory and quality control for all 15/70mm film prints, soundtracks, DCPs and all forms of content storage and presentation technology for SK products
  • Collect and provide on a timely basis reports on performance results (box office, attendance, royalties owing, etc.) and work with VP of Finance/Administration to maximize collection of amounts owing from clients worldwide
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date worldwide client database
  • Assist and source quotes from vendors associated with lease generation for all formats
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of language versions for SK’s library of films
  • Manage lease conclusion with accuracy, which includes advanced reminders of lease expiry, drafting of lease extensions and print collection and wrap up, including number of passes and condition of prints
  • Co-ordinate/prepare high quality applications for film festivals, grants, Government incentive programs and manage the contract deliverables.
  • Assist with the attendance at trade shows and special events (includes the creation and maintenance of critical path, budget, registration, submissions, rentals, shipments, etc.)
  • Prepare on a timely basis invoices and purchase orders so that the VP of Finance has accurate and up-to-date receivable and payable information to incorporate into the company’s overall cash flow and financial projections
  • Assist with office organization and ordering supplies as directed by the VP of Sales and Marketing and VP of Finance and Business Affairs

Requirements:

  • Degree in film, business or other related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Several Years of experience with film assets a plus
  • Experience in Bookkeeping or office management a plus
  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills, A Team Player
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in copy editing
  • High level social media skills/experience
  • Ability to work effectively and pro-actively in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Knowledge and ease of use of Mac computers
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Expected salary: $40000 – 45000 per year
