Job title: Jr. Mechanical Drafter ($20 /hour)

Job description: We are seeking an experienced and professional individual for a full-time, short-term contract as a Jr. Mechanical Drafter in the Peterborough area.
On the job, the successful candidate will assist drafting for mechanical building HVAC services, plumbing and fire protection sprinkler systems.
Jr. Mechanical Drafter Duties:
- Prepare ductwork and plumbing piping layout and detail drawings using AutoCAD
- Calculate building heat loss and heat gains using software
- Size ductwork and piping
- Size and select heating/air conditioning grilles and diffusers
- Assist in taking site measurements for renovation projects and transfer this information to AutoCAD drawings.
Jr. Mechanical Drafter Requirements:
- Proficiency using AutoCAD or similar software
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
- Familiarity with mechanical building systems an asset
- Technician Certificate in Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Building Engineering Technology (Mechanical) or, Fire Protection (Sprinklers) or Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Mechanical)
- Ability to create freehand sketches
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter and willingness to learn
- High level of personal integrity
- Team player
