Job description: Robert Half may have the role for you if you’re looking to grow your career with a thriving company as an Intermediate Accountant. This reputable business’s Intermediate Accountant position handles matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This role is for an Intermediate Accountant in the Ottawa, Ontario, area.
Your responsibilities
– Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
– Carry out other related duties and work on special projects as assigned
– Produce statements and reports using a variety of sources
– Assist with general accounting tasks, including G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, and other ad hoc projects
– Support accounts payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching – Reconcile discrepancies by examining possible sources of disagreement, recreating likely actions, and identifying the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as needed
– Manually or electronically post financial information
– Process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipts, and help with the collection of past due balances to support Accounts Receivable
– 5+ years of accounting experience required
– AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
– Previous experience working with Code Invoices
– Demonstrated knowledge of Aged Receivables
– Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) – Accounting Entries experience required
– Background working with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
– Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended
