Job description: Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive service as ITS 3, G-23 or in a position deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law or in a title designated appropriate for Section 70.1 transfer of the Civil Service Law such as ITS 3 (Data comm), G-23. Duties Description The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 3 to work in the Windows Systems Team of the Infrastructure and Operations Section. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and support of department Windows servers, Active Directory environment, File shares, and client Windows machines. Supervision of subordinate staff may be required.

DUTIES:

– Manage Windows server environment: Build and maintain operating system, support application installs.
– Manage Desktop environment: Install, patch and support desktops and applications with Microsoft System Center and third-party products.
– Active Directory design and support: Manage user and computer objects, define and create roles, update sites and services, perform DC upgrades, and maintain replication health.
– Group policy design and maintenance: Create and maintain policies to manage users, groups and computer objects.
– Write and maintain PowerShell scripts to perform a variety of tasks, such as file migrations, server health monitoring, etc.
– Maintain DFS namespace and file servers.
– Certificate service maintenance: Manage certificate authority server, create domain certificates when requested.
– Supervision of ITS-18 staff and/or contracted consultants.
– Delegation of tasks to subordinate staff and the testing/verification of task completion and correctness.
– Manage cross training of technical staff to follow proper operating procedures necessary to maintain the integrity of the servers and the technologies involved.
– Develop and implement test plans for new equipment and designs.
– Work with Project Management Office to gather requirements, implement and provide technical guidance on multiple projects.

Additional Comments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

– Experience troubleshooting applications, hardware and network issues
– Experience in all recent versions of Windows server and Windows desktop
– Experience with SCCM for software installations and patching
– Experience with SCOM for Server Monitoring
– Experience with Active Directory and Group policy
– Experience integrating applications with AD authentication or Identity and Access Management
– Proficient with PowerShell
– Experience with Service Now modules including change control, incident management and requests
– Experience supporting end-users in a help desk role or similar user support role
– Strong communication and customer service skills
vExperience working independently, but also as part of a team

Expected salary: $73284 – 92693 per year
