About us:

The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, as well as central Business Intelligence and Document Management applications.

Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Enterprise Shared Services, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational technology solutions to the University. Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University’s administrative management and student systems.

You will be responsible for responding to support and request tickets submitted by University users related to Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, and associated processes and applications. You will also be responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of department SharePoint sites including any required configuration. You will work cooperatively with a team of technical specialists to ensure the efficient, effective, and secure use of resources while contributing to and supporting Microsoft SharePoint Online solutions. You may be responsible for designing and building content and information management solutions based primarily on Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 to help improve University information and business processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Designing, testing, and modifying programming code using SharePoint Online framework and JavaScript
  • Testing business applications to ensure reliability
  • Drafting and editing training content
  • Training end-users on procedures and the use of supported IT systems
  • Advising clients and technical subject matter experts on best practice for documenting system requirements
  • Analyzing and documenting business requirements
  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development of business systems
  • Planning the implementation of new business system processes

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Studies, Computer Science or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years’ demonstrated experience designing, building and supporting SharePoint sites (SharePoint Online preferred).
  • Experience automating processes with PowerAutomate.
  • Experience with web design and usability principles.
  • Experience with document and records management concepts such as metadata, taxonomies, retention policies.
  • Experience using 3rd party content migration tools like Sharegate and Metalogix.
  • Effective written, oral, interpersonal and relationship building skills, particularly with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills in the Office365 platform with MS Office; proficient with OneDrive and Teams.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient with modern and relevant web scripting such as HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, CSS and PowerShell.
  • Understanding of integration methods and capabilities (REST API, MS Graph API, etc.).

Assets (Nonessential):

  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities, often with time constraints and short deadlines.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and SharePoint Developer Community resources.
  • Service and detailed oriented.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow and ITIL/ITSM processes in an academic environment.
  • Experience dealing with data in a University environment.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 — $70,427 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,064. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
