Canadian Blood Services is looking for Temporary Full-Time Human Resources Representative to join our dynamic Shared Services division. In this role you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to employees on HR policies, HR programs, benefits, pension and pay related provisions of multiple collective agreements and the terms & conditions of employment. You will also maintain information with regards to employee changes within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring the integrity of the data and adherence to best practices. You will also partner with People, Culture and Performance to ensure that new or changing programs, provisions or initiatives are supported and incorporated into internal practices, managed within the HRIS system as appropriate, and provide guidance to employees and managers on their application/eligibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Applying diversified and complex procedural rules/processes in support of employee changes including new hires, internal moves, leaves of absence, return to work, strike action, layoff and recall, termination and retirement.
- Managing pay related changes in accordance with collective agreement provisions and non-unionized compensation guidelines.
- Administering pension and benefit programs.
- Preparing ad hoc and prescribed reports.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year related experience supporting an HRIS system, preferably SAP.
- Post-secondary level education in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
- Previous experience providing employee support for pay related inquiries and benefits/pension administration.
- Previous experience working within a unionized environment is an asset. The role requires an intimate knowledge of multiple collective agreement provisions relating to pay and employee entitlements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, being able to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with others.
- Inquisitive mind with an eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Excellent client service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in MS Word and Excel.
