What you will do
As the Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining the departmental business processes, business information and best practices. You will provide business analysis, contributing to the development, enhancement, support and maintenance of systems that are used in the Bank’s core business functions. Your expertise will provide value-added support for business processes as well as automated solutions for the department. In partnership with other departments, including Information Technology Services, and external technology suppliers, you will coordinate projects and system enhancements.
In addition, you will:
- participate in the analysis phase of a variety of business processes by gathering and managing user requirements and all activities of the release management cycle, including monitoring approvals and coordinating deployment to production with internal ITS resources and third-party suppliers
- consult with stakeholders to elicit, probe, clarify and refine business requirements for new or enhanced systems and or/business processes; translates business requirements into actionable specifications
- execute user acceptance testing and applies a variety of standard analytic processes and techniques when analyzing HR’s business and challenges to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that standards are respected
What you need to succeed
Setting priorities, ensuring follow-through are key in this role. You also need to be able to quickly grasp, troubleshoot and diagnose problems and develop appropriate responses to address them as well as anticipate future opportunities or uncover potential problems. You should also have experience working with platforms/tools relevant to HR (e.g., SAP HCM, SuccessFactors, Service Now, Jira) and know the fundamentals of computer systems and IT methodology used in the client server environments.
Excellent communication skills are also important, since you will be working with clients, technical specialists and suppliers to resolve problems and will also be required to assist in writing business impact assessments.
Nice-to-have
- Business Analysis certification through a recognized learning organization such as the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification
Your education and experience
The position requires completed post-secondary degree in a relevant field (e.g., information technology, project management, business analysis) and a minimum of 3 years of experience HR Business process within an HR environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
What you need to know
- Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
- Security level required: Reliability
- You will work remotely from any location within Canada while the Bank operates under mandatory telework. Flexibility for remote work for the duration of the term may be granted.

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $71,300 to $83,800 (job grade 15)
- Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay for successfully meeting (5 to 7% of your base salary) or for exceeding expectations (10% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
