Company: Brooklyn FI
Job description: Brooklyn FI is a fee-only financial planning firm based in Brooklyn, NY. Our niche is two-fold: creative small business owners and tech professionals with equity compensations. The F.I. in Brooklyn F.I. stands for Financial Independence. The central idea at the core of our planning practice is that money is just a tool to live your best life. We build lifelong relationships with clients who are generally frustrated with the financial advice they’ve received and are looking for a true partner to lead them through the exciting “accumulation” phase of life.
Our average client age is 35 and our clients’ lives seem to change about every 3 months with a new family member, a new home, a new business or a liquidity event. Our dynamic financial plans, and the financial planners who deliver them, are there to guide them every step of the way. We offer financial planning on a monthly retainer model as well as investment management and tax preparation as optional add-ons.
In 2020 our team went fully remote and it’s been great. We’re currently a team of seven and will be growing larger this year. In addition to the financial planning firm, we have a sister tax firm, so our clients get tremendous value by bringing financial planning, investment management, accounting, and tax preparation all under one roof.
