What you will be doing
You will be supporting the WRRC leadership team by overseeing and completing all activities related to accounting and Agency Finances, including but not limited to data entry, AP/AR, payroll, preparation and data input for quarterly financial reports and annual audits. You will participate actively as a member of the leadership team, providing consultation and expertise regarding agency funding and budgets.
Your duties and responsibilities will include
- Completing all necessary financial activities associated with the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, invoicing, requisitions, reconciliation, cash flow, and banking functions
- Completing all reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Acting as a primary resource, coordinating and supporting year-end audit process
- Completing all bookkeeping activities including prepares deposits and journal postings to the general ledger
- Maintaining appropriate and required information specific to insurance and organizational vehicles
- Preparing, distributing, analyzing and reviewing financial statements and all relevant information on a monthly or as required basis for management decision making and Finance Committee of the Board
- Preparing financial aspects of contracts and other documents in conjunction with Executive Director and other Leadership members
- Managing all aspects of government payments for source deductions
- Developing, implementing and reviewing all internal financial controls, policies and procedures (participate with any revisions)
- Preparing all reports and documents of a financial nature required by funding bodies, other government agencies or as requested by the Executive Director
- Managing all aspects of EHT and WSIB
- Managing all aspects of the bank accounts and liaise with Account Manager as required
- Preparing, analysing and submitting monthly/quarterly reports for funders, Board and Executive Director
- Analysing all balance sheet accounts on a quarterly basis to ensure proper allocation of expenses and payments
- Preparing TPAR reports and reconciliation of these reports to the Accountant for review and submission to funders.
- Engaging in 3-5 year planning and vision which guides the process of developing, recommending and implementing approved budgets. Completes the annual budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
Location
Our office is located at 145 Beech Street, Strathroy, ON.
Hours
The hours for this position are 25-30 hours per month, with the requirement for on-site support at minimum once every two weeks.
What you bring to the role
- Post secondary degree/diploma in administration / business management or related field of study.
- Minimum 3 years experience including accounting, book keeping, financial management in a non-profit environment. Experience with government budgets and reporting is required. Experience with MCCSS reporting is an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial management within a non-profit context.
- Excellent communications, listening and assessment skills.
- Competent in the use of computer office technology, payroll and accounting software and applications (MS Office, Sage)
- Knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act and associated regulations.
- Demonstrated abilities in taking initiative/self-management, accountability and flexibility/adaptability.
- Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate with independence.
- Ability to work effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels of the organization, partner agencies, funders and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, organize and complete work effectively and within established timeframes
- Ability to qualify for and maintain appropriate security clearances
