Job title: Field Practicum Coordinator (Temporary, Full-Time)

Job description: Reporting to the Director, Clinical and Experiential Learning, the Field Practicum Coordinator is responsible for developing, promoting, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining government funded field practicum sites in consultation with the program coordinator. The incumbent supports all clinical instructor and site supervisor relationships for the Accelerated Personal Support Worker program. The incumbent supports all eligible students in obtaining a government funded practicum by the start of the relevant term.
What You’ll be Doing
- Supporting the start-up and implementation of a new condensed Personal Support Worker (PSW) program;
- Arranging and coordinating government funded field practicum sites for the Accelerated PSW program for all relevant cohorts; determining and managing lists of student’s scheduled for placement;
- Managing government funded practicum database;
- Consulting with Accelerated PSW program coordinator regarding practicum scheduling issues and needs; reassessing practicum sites on a routine basis;
- Determining government funded practicum locations based on students’ needs and availability of government funded placement sites;
- Providing external partners with support, regular information and feedback regarding program changes and expectations;
- Compiling, reviewing and distributing government funded placement materials to students, government funded placement sites and faculty, support staff and program coordinators;
- Conducting virtual site visits as required by students, faculty and agencies;
- Educating and informing students, clinical instructors, placement supervisors, Sheridan faculty and program coordinators about the government funded practicum model, policies, procedures and requirements of the College and placement site;
- Consulting and collaborating with program coordinators about the government funded partnership models for the practicum;
- Attending faculty meetings when required;
- Conducting pre-practicum classroom meetings, presentations/workshops with students and/or clinical instructors to educate them about the government funded practicum requirements, policies and procedures needed to secure a government funded practicum;
- Developing, reviewing and revising government funded practicum evaluation tools;
- Establishing and maintaining administrative policies, procedures and documentation requirements for government funded practicum related issues;
- Responding to students and field inquiries about government funded practicum requirements;
- Providing link with program faculty and Professional Advisory Council members to ensure consistency between program curriculum and government funded field practicum;
- Developing and maintaining community partner relationships;
- Performing other related duties, as assigned.

The successful candidate will also have:
- Practical Nursing diploma (or diploma in a related field); Nursing undergraduate or graduate degree (asset)
- 2 years of administrative/supervisory experience working with a variety of community resources
- Experience working with PSWs
- Experience working as a PSW and in an educational role supporting and guiding students (asset)
- Customer service experience (asset)

Faculty: Applied Health and Community Studies
Campus Location: Davis (may be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) once normal campus operations resume. This position is currently working remotely.
Employee Group: Project of Non-Recurring Kind
Hourly Rate: $36.39
Hours/Week: 37.5
