An Overview of the Position:
Do you excel at determining the best way to communicate your message to the right audience – and how to increase engagement? If so, this role may be for you. Reporting to the Director, Marketing Communications this position will lead internal communications and engagement activities across Spark Power divisions. As a member of the MarComm team, the Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist will work closely with our Senior Management and our People & Culture teams to develop and execute internal communications and engagement strategies.
What Will You Be Responsible For?
Internal Communications
- Develop and execute corporate functions and line of business internal communication strategies.
- Provide leaders with communications support and counsel for business priorities by developing briefing materials, presentations, executive notes, media materials, and speaking remarks for projects and events (i.e. Town Halls, Video Messages…etc.)
- Manage the company internal communication platforms, including development and publication of communications, platform maintenance, and reporting on metrics/KPIs
Engagement
- Support the People and Culture team with developing Spark’s employer brand strategy.
- Lead internal employee events.
- Work cross-functionally with our People & Culture team on employee engagement programs and strategies, and culture communications.
LMS Content Development
- Lead content development for our company learning management system.
What Are We Looking For?
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in communications and engagement role.
- Demonstrated success with developing and executing internal engagement plans to increase employee engagement.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills that make an impact, including employee communications, management speeches, scripts, presentations.
- Proven results-oriented experience in multi-location employee communications strategies is essential.
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with business leaders, marketing, creative and digital teams as well as control functions (People & Culture, Legal, Health & Safety…etc.)
- Post-secondary education, preferably in Communications or another related field is required.
- Experience with Merger & Acquisitions internal communications is an asset.
- Experience in the power and energy industry is an asset.
Expected Salary: $60,000 – $65,000
This is a 6 month contract with possibility for renewal.
