Job description: Summary:
Our award winning client is currently hiring for a Director of Finance to work at their New York location. The Director of Finance is responsible for external and internal accounting functions. Provides leadership and coordination of Company financial reporting, planning and budget management functions. Ensures Company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise accounting staff.
- Oversee internal controls.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and standard operating procedures.
- Sets financial targets.
- Prepares and forecasts comprehensive budgets for the business, including evaluating the needs of each department in the short and long term.
- Monitor expenditure, revenue and use of company resources to manage the budget.
- Monitor cash flow.
- Develops a financial plan.
- Evaluate investments.
- Manage tax compliance.
- Analyze trends to reduce financial risks associated with making investment or spending decisions.
- Analyze complex financial data.
- Manage internal controls (i.e., segregation of duties).
- Train accounting staff and non-financial managers on accounting-related matters.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of fiscal policy and investment regulations.
- Creates usable budgets.
- Ensures the maintenance of appropriate financial records and preparation of required financial reports.
- Offers sound advice to the CEO and COO regarding spending and budget questions.
- Plays a key role in financial initiatives, including tax credits, federal and state grants, cost reduction.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Financial management experience.
- Strong aptitude for math.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Broad knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
Expected salary: $140000 per year
