The Team:

The Product Development and Quality technology team oversees the applications and tools that enable our business to design and develop toys with quality and provide great consumer experience. The team is geographically diverse as our business partners are located across North America and Asia. Our subject matter knowledge are in CAD and BOM Management, Product Portfolio Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Quality and Laboratory Information Management, Consumer Care and Contact Center Management.

Job Description

The Opportunity:

Mattel is currently seeking a Director in our Global Technology Organization. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Technology that is responsible for delivering technology solutions across our Brands, Global Supply Chain and Corporate back office solutions. This role will be focused more specifically on Product Development, Quality and Customer Care. The Director will need to partner with the business on process harmonization and requirements, with the architects on solution alignment and with our developers to deliver capabilities that are aligned with our business strategy and goals.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Relationship – Build strong relationships with both business leaders and technology leaders to influence and drive outcomes that meet our goals.
  • Strategy – Leverage the relationship and establish technology strategies that align with various objectives across the organizations. Communicate and obtain buy-in from stakeholders. Iterate the strategy as needed.
  • Execution – Oversee and drive project execution through established operating model. Work with vendor partners and various stakeholders to ensure value or capability is delivered within the defined timeline and budget.
  • Resource Management – Plan and prioritize activities of assigned staff across the globe on tasks and projects. Provide guidance and mentorship to grow staff that is aligned with their career aspirations.
  • Budget Management – Manages opex and capex for assigned projects and budget centers. Always look for opportunities to optimize.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience working in IT in a global delivery function
  • Must have working knowledge in 2 or more of the following domains: Product Lifecycle Management, Quality Management or Contact Center Management
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking mindset
  • Able to work with contractors and consultants to drive outcome
  • Comfortable presenting to executives on a regular basis
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed organization to drive outcome
  • Open to travel as needed (approximately 10%)
  • Oracle Agile PLM or Salesforce Service Cloud experiences (not required, but good to have.
  • Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods or Fast Fashion industries preferred
