Riipen is looking for a Data Engineer to join our Technology Team!

Riipen is an industry-leading provider of experiential learning software and services to postsecondary schools across North America. We are currently looking for an industry proven, self-motivated data engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be a detailed,conscientious worker with a record of success, who has demonstrated they can work collaboratively and independently as required. Does this sound like you? Responsibilities

  • Work with Riipen staff to define requirements and specifications for internal data needs
  • Deliver a high-quality SaaS based data platform
  • Design, build and implement data extraction, integration, modeling, transformation, and business intelligence systems/applications
  • Provide suggestions for improving the overall data architecture
  • Create data models, data/system flow documentation, design documents, and test documents
  • Design, code and test complex routines, and programs
  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of the data platform

Great candidates will have…

  • Strong software development experience
  • Strong experience with relational databases, SQL, or other data storage technologies
  • Proven AWS knowledge
  • Experience developing against APIs and building robust solutions to pull data on a schedule
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and related technologies such as DataModeling, Data Analysis, ETL, Data Warehousing and other big data concepts
  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery systems and Lean-Agile methodologies (Scrum /Kanban)
  • Connect personally and professionally with our company values;
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment;
  • Have the ability to consistently deliver exceptional results on demanding timelines;
  • Be process and detail-oriented, creative, and with strong analytical skills;
  • Have a hunger and willingness to learn and adapt as Riipen evolves.
