Job description: Opening for a Data Analyst with our financial services client.
Currently a remote/work from home role with option to return to work onsite in NYC financial district at a later date.
In this role, you will support the Program Manager and Metrics Coordinator in gathering, rationalizing, and enriching all data sets in the Alternative Investments Services organization.
Responsibilities
- Integrate multiple datasets where there is significant overlap and many to many relationships
- Design reports to satisfy business requirements by developing the necessary SQL queries to extract the relevant data
- Liaising with internal departments to define business and technical requirements for integration between IT Systems
- Identify and resolve duplication and anomalies in data
- Analyze and map business processes (current state/future state)
- Develop business and functional requirements
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of data analysis experience (experience with finance data preferred)
- Experience working with large sets of data in Microsoft Excel and Access
- Ability to synthesize various complex data sets and provide optimal solution in organizing and rationalizing the data
- Strong communication skills – ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders
- Strong documentation skills – be able to document and track progress of where data source resides (i.e. data lineage)
- Proficiency with Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.
Preferred Experience
- Business Analyst experience (documenting Business requirements/user stories)
- Project Management experience – general understanding of project management lifecycle process and SDLC (software development lifecycle)
