Specific Accountabilities
What you will be responsible for
- Accountable to ensure compliance with various first-line risk management functions, workflows and policies of the CWB Maxium business lines, including requirements for loan management, data integrity, portfolio quality, exposure limits and fulfillment of loan security and approval requirements.
- Build close working relationships with sales and operations and risk management teams to analyze, structure, write and process credit applications, review and recommendations in a timely manner consistent with established business line service agreements
- Analyze and discuss terms and conditions of credit applications and related matters with sales and large deal review committee, as required
- Ensure risk-taking is within acceptable parameters of CWB Maxium’s lending practices, policies and procedures
- Approve credit applications (new and renewal) within a delegated credit limit
- Prepare recommendations for approval, restructuring, or deferral of credit applications
- Prepare credit condition checklists for each approved credit application
- Ensure adherence to CWB Maxium’s credit administration and security policies and procedures
- Assist in the preparation of annual credit reviews on assigned portfolio of loans/leases including an updated security review, financial covenant testing, re-rating of transaction credit risk and updated financial statement and cash flow analysis
- Review amendments seeking approval to modify the original transaction security or other credit conditions
- Ensure required reports and financial data are received and analyzed promptly in accordance with loan commitments
- Identify and actively participate in credit process improvements
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of all customer information in accordance with internal policies and procedures, and federal rules and regulations
- Inspire trust by being open, honest and direct in communication, meeting commitments and behaving ethically in all dealings
- Treat all stakeholders with professionalism, dignity and respect and support an environment where people can contribute and excel

We are looking for someone with strong time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to be a strong negotiator who is able to work collaboratively with all of our business lines. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are a must. This role requires a person with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. If you have a background and knowledge in equipment financing and leasing, general knowledge of collateral security and leasing documentation requirements, it would be an asset. A great teammate able to work well with colleagues while striving to meet personal goals would excel in this position.
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from
Education
- Bachelors’ Degree in business or related discipline is required
Professional Experience
- 2-3 years financial services experience within functions of risk management, banking and/or commercial lending
- Experience in credit adjudication supported by well-developed skills in financial statement analysis and knowledge of effective risk mitigation strategies for credit underwriting
