Hybrid Schedule ( 2 days in Office / 3 Day Remote ) Overview: This position will be responsible for all financial and fiscal management of company operations. The Controller will provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company while working directly with the CFO and CEO of the company. Primary responsibilities:
- Overseeing the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
- Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting.
- Reporting financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements.
- Identifying and addressing financial risks and opportunities for the company.
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
- Manage the daily operations of the accounting department; supervise all accounting and administrative personnel.
- Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports that summarize and forecast the Company’s financial position and results of operations.
- Review, analyze and develop job cost reports in order to determine accurate estimated total costs to complete; prepare work in progress reports.
- Provide technical advice and guidance in order to educate personnel on financial and business issues.
- Serve as the key contact for the Company’s external auditors, bankers, surety and insurance brokers.
- Maintain banking, legal, tax and insurance relationships to support operational and strategic objectives.
- Mitigate contracting, insurance and compliance risks by developing standardized procedures, tools, and requirements.
Knowledge and skill requirements:
- Ten years of construction management experience in a senior level finance or accounting position, a CPA/master’s degree would be a plus;
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change order management;
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations;
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects;
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, a knowledge of the Plexxis ERP system is a plus; and
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Expected salary: $110000 – 125000 per year
