Internship Summary: Our internship will provide a student/individual with an opportunity to apply their critical thinking and data analytical skills by creating metrics and dashboards to assist the leaders of nonprofits with their decision making. The intern will utilize Microsoft Power BI and should be open to exploring other data analytical tools.
The intern will have the opportunity to use the skills they acquired in their classes and apply them to a real-world professional setting.
Strong critical thinking, oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to work independently and as a team will be needed. Curiosity and a passion for technology is key in helping Kiwi Partners innovate its traditional accounting and HR services.
The intern should be flexible and adaptable as they may be working on many projects simultaneously.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with client databases (CRM, various accounting solutions, HRIS/HCM) and collect data from stakeholders.
- Use Microsoft Excel’s Power BI function to run data analytics.
- Create metrics and measures that would enhance clients’ decision-making abilities.
- Recommend new approaches and procedures to allow continual improvements in departmental efficiency and in services performed.
- Support the Accounting team in using Power BI and other technology to assist in refining analytics.
- Ad hoc requests as required and/or necessary.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Familiar with project management
- Proficiency using database systems such as SharePoint & Google Drive, a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and under competing deadlines
Education and Experience:
Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program, a recent BAIT graduate or pursuing a Data Information concentration.
Prior internship or work experience preferred.
