Strutt Armstrong is seeking a highly skilled individual that can function in a bookkeeper-administrator hybrid position. Successful applicants are able to work in a fast-paced environment and are team-oriented. In this role, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the business and act as a point of contact for client inquires. You will support the needs of team members and that of the business.
With your high attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities, you will collaborate with other professionals in a team-oriented environment. You will be responsible for a variety of daily administrative and bookkeeping functions such as:
- Preparing and editing correspondence, tax letters and proposals
- Assembling personal and corporate tax returns using industry specific software systems
- Finalizing financial statements; drafting and finalizing monthly client invoices
- Interacting with clients and visitors to provide insight into queries
- Maintaining cloud-based books of account for clients
- Preparing journal entries and bank reconciliations
- Completing remittances and government reporting requirements for payroll, GST, HST, EHT, workers compensation, AR and AP, and monthly bookkeeping
- Scanning, copying and saving documents
- Filing and retrieving documents and reference materials
- Conducting research; analyzing data to prepare letters and reports
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office, Outlook); QuickBooks and QuickBooks, Sage and other bookkeeping software
- Routine database activity, utilizing industry software
- Ability to work independently to complete workload based on level of importance
- Perform job responsibilities effectively under conditions of fluctuating demands
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with professionalism and confidentiality
- An understanding of finance and accounting-related principles and concepts would be an asset
Your education and training will consist of:
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or equivalent
- Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) status with the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC)
- QuickBooks Online certified or equivalent would be an asset
- 3+ years of related bookkeeping/administrative experience
