About the Opportunity

  • The Bookkeeper Administrator is responsible for managing the bookkeeping and general administrative duties including the preparation of financial analysis reports and assist in handling of full cycle accounting functions
  • Work closely with accounting team to coordinate and assist with the month end process, including pre-close analysis, month end close, and post close processes
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform sales reconciliations, compare and analyze results, and assess the accuracy and reasonableness of monthly financial reports
  • Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations and analysis including bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and other sub-ledger accounts as required
  • Reconcile general ledger with bank and corporate accounts to identify discrepancies requiring investigation
  • Assist with the day-to-day transactions when required, including, but not limited to, posting receipts, e-transfers, direct deposits, wires, credit card payments, preparing cheques for signature
  • Receive cheques, drafts for posting in accounting software for deposit to bank and scanning to appropriate folders for filing
  • Reviewed outstanding aged trial balance weekly, ensuring receivables and payables are maintained
  • Coordinate with the sales team for timely collections of accounts receivables
  • Assist with invoicing of customer accounts and process and mange customer returns when required
  • Coordinate vendor invoice data entry process to ensure timely input of invoices into general ledger
  • Ensure all vendors are paid by their respective due dates
  • Maintain and update pricing information from multiple vendor
  • Assist with the preparation of sales tax reports for filing as needed
  • Assist with the processing of payroll and ensure payroll remittances are reported and paid prior to deadlines as needed
  • Manage the other day-to-day accounting transactions as required
  • Other related documentation tasks as required, including scanning, photocopying, couriering, etc

About You

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or Business with equivalent of 3+ years working in an accounting department with full accounting cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with advanced knowledge and experience in working with Excel such as Pivot tables, V-look-up and Sum if formulas
  • Experience working with desktop accounting software is preferred
  • Experience in government filings, completing tax remittance forms, Workers’ Compensation forms, and other associated government documents is preferred
  • Experience with multi-currencies is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly; ability to take initiative and work well as a member of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
  • Attention to detail is essential with focus on high quality of deliverables s well as a track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Exceptional skills in effectively managing multiple tasks often under pressure and within rigid time constraints

Salary

$50,000 – $65,000/year
